In a recent survey, 72.5% of product management leaders indicated that the product roadmap is the most important manifestation of strategy. Are they right? Maybe not. In fact, there is much confusion about strategy itself, the strategic planning process, and the role of strategic planning for product managers.

Why is this important? It's important because as product managers, we spend so much time working on seemingly urgent tasks, that we often don't see the full picture of our "product as a business" It's time to step back. It's time to look at the pieces of the strategy puzzle and figure out how to put them back together so that we can drive our product's business forward and improve our competitive posture.

Steven Haines, the author of The Product Manager's Desk Reference and president of Sequent Learning Networks, will facilitate an active discussion to inspire you to think more holistically about how to create data driven, clear, and relevant strategies in the business of your product!
