With the current US economy in trouble many companies are trying to develop business outside of North America. Along with new business development some companies are attempting to improve metrics for non-North American businesses.
Business outside of NA contains many challenges that don’t face US only companies. For example, manufacturing, regulations, value propositions and overall marketing approach may need to vary significantly from US. Also, even if companies currently do business outside of NA, they can struggle in trying to quantify that business.
Many regions have their own computer systems, R&D and fully developed product offering to match their market needs; however, developing a complete global offering is a daunting task. We will discuss one method for trying to incorporate a global approach into business, the market research and analysis to understand a global portfolio and many of the challenges launching truly global products.
1. Understand the need to view your market globally
2. Understand the methodology used to establish a global outlook
3. Realize some of the challenges and potential solutions to launching new products globally
