I officially became a job seeker in the middle of August. ACL did a round of restructuring / rightsizing and I got caught in the middle. I can appreciate their decision as a business decision and on the surface it makes sense. It still stung though. Fortunately I leave there with strong references up and down the ladder and across functional groups.
My time at ACL helped formulate a great product management story, one of change, turnaround and growth. I’ll share that story in more detail in my next post, I think it is worth sharing and can be a lesson for many. It is my favourite personal product management story.
I have nothing but positive things to say about ACL, management, and the people. Their future is bright. However, it is time to turn the page and start a new chapter. I am already excited about the next role – whatever that may be. I know two things for certain, I will be doing product management and I will be doing it for a software company.
I have some time to decide my next steps and I want to remain open for the right opportunity. At this point everything is worth exploring. With that said, if you have a product management opening you think I might be a good fit for, pass it along and let’s talk.
In my next post, I’ll share my story referenced earlier and the post after that I am going to work on a description of who I am and what I bring to the table. I believe I am a seasoned (read senior) product manager with a unique experience that would bring immediate value to any software company.
